Purim 2006
Hello S of R readers. For our 81st post (we're almost at the triple digit mark!) we've got some pictures (and a video!) from this year's Purim celebrations. According to Judaism 101, Purim is "one of the most joyous and fun holidays on the Jewish calendar. It commemorates a time when the Jewish people living in Persia were saved from extermination".
Enjoy the pics, and once you scroll to the bottom, enjoy the video clip. Thank you to Reggie and the Full Effect for providing the song, "Laura's Australian Dance Party". I'm too hungover to provide captions, so enjoy the non-captioned photography. And remember: Haman sucks!
And the video clip:

Is it just me, or is nobody there?
Where's everybody gone to? What happened to the large crowd that's usually there?
We had something like 50 people last year, what gives?
There were TONS of people. These pics were taken in the basement where we ate our dinner because the lounge upstairs was packed full!
i look soooo cute! lol.
great pics.
Has anybody seen or heard from moe? Formal is on sunday and he "supposedly" has my ticket.

The last Moe sighting I heard about was that he was at Bnai Torah for a late night megillah reading. If you leave a tooth (or some sushi) under your pillow he may show up. He's always been a mythical kinda guy.
Seriously though, he's uber busy these days, but you can always try writing to him or calling him up.
Another one bites the dust huh?
Man oh man. We had a crazy Purim here. Drunk rabbis and even drunker students. I stayed away from most of the action, but it was still a good time for all.
Except those throwing up that is.
Did you dress up at all? See any wacky costumes? At UofT we had cats in hats, peacocks, toga royalty, princes, doctors, Wacky Barry, and masked mystery men.
can't forget the peacock. And I really don't think sushi under the pillow is a wise idea. I mean, I love sushi and all (mine is sooo much better than the store bought type) but that stuff seriously needs to be refrigerated. There is nothing worse than rancid sushi.

Yes,
I dressed up. I went around in my suit, with a golden mask on. I figure I looked pretty good. Should've gotten a picture.
Ah well.
That video was pretty funny, seems like a good time was had by all, woot woot! But, Noam, what's with the funny smile? Looks like they caught you in the middle of a laugh with ever picture. Oh well. Oh, and don't worry about rancid sushi, it never remains under the pillow long enough for anything to happen.
P.S. I'm have a going away shindig next Sunday, on the 26th, you all better come, or else, WHAP....whatever that means.
