You've come a long way, baby

Isn't it amazing how far video games have come in the last twenty years? Just look at the picture above. On the left is a screenshot from 10 Yard Fight, and on the right, an image from Madden NFL 06. Want to see more of these comparisons? Hit up Mr. Bula. You'll be amazed.

I know I am.

what's frightening is that I have a more primative version of "10 yard fight." And I can still play it.

You beat Super Mario? I could never get past Bowser in the end. He kept blasting them flame balls at me.

Beat Super Mario 3 a couple times. Don't remember if I ever finished 1. Oh, and Avi, Bowser didn't exist until the Mario 3. Maybe 2, but probably not.

King Koopa was the big boss for Super Mario.

Right, King Koopa is what I meant. Thanks. They look very similar though. That's why I jumbled it. I really liked the Battle Toads game for NES too. It was fun to surf while dodging baddies.

Can't wait for Revolution!

The entire back catalogue (I'm hoping) of home console games (NES, Super NES and N64) will be available for download from Nintendo!

Plus Gamecube games will work on it.

20 Years worth of games! Drool.

I'm still waiting for Revolution's stats. No real info until E3.

If Sony can get the price lower for PS3, it is going to rock the house in terms of processing power and games (backwards compatible with the huge Sony library).

Actually, they have pretty close to official specs on the Rev now.

Go to http://revolution.ign.com and find the link to the Revolution's Horsepower article in the Latest Headlines or News section.

You could also watch IGN Weekly and skip to the interview between Matt Cassimisina (did I spell his name right?) and Peer Schnieder (I think that was it). Matt mentions the specs during the discussion.

Either way, it's not a powerhouse system. Or it's not supposed to be at least. It's going to still amaze the heck out of you when you see and play it. I can assure you of that.

And the price is supposed to be quite low.

As far as PS3... Well, they're gonna be losing a lot of money if they don't price it right, let me just say that.
