Me and You and Everyone We Know

Every couple of years, a film comes along that just blows my mind.

I just had the pleasure – no, the privilege, of watching Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005). It is the directorial debut of Miranda July. I remembered seeing a trailer for it a long while back. Since then, it has garnered 15 awards, including the ‘Golden Camera’ from Cannes, and the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.

It is an original, riveting presentation of life, human relationships, and real people. I could not look away. It takes those small moments that other films try so hard to achieve, and instead stretches them across the entire breadth of the film.

It is a must see for anyone that cares about art, cinema, or just the human capacity to experience a moment in its fullest sense. I have included the trailer below. Please give the film a chance. It deserves your attention.
