When it rains, it pours

flood_2

Krikey! Over in Toronto, it has been raining all day! I was strolling through a heavy storm after getting a much needed haircut when I came across a flooded street. It was not just any flooded street, but the street of Shul of Rocker Snoopy! I hope the flood damage was minimal.

Ambulances rushed along the sidewalks and tore through people's lawns in order to reach the site. I almost got run down by one. The pictures you see here were snapped about 25 minutes ago. I'm still soaking wet, and I think I'm going to go change my socks and pants.

Moe! Yesterday 'Snoopy' and I realized that you must have flooded real bad-like. Are you spraying that crazy Lysol again? I walked over to your place the other day to see if you wanted to walk down to No-Ham's, but no-one was home. I walked down by my lonesome and Soph and I had a lovely afternoon making Gnome feel like a third wheel. Don't worry, we felt really guilty afterwards.

Yeah, I got a haircut. Booo!!! indeed.

Nice pic of my mom's van Avi. Hehe, yeah, we got almost 3 inches in the basement. Freaky stuff. Our poor neighbours' lawn got thrashed by drivers using the sidewalk. Turns out the street flood could have been avoided if we had made sure the storm drains would have been clean. Much thanks to Rabbi Brez who stood out in the rain, up to his waist in the street flood, cleaning one of the main drains with a snow shovel.

Thankfully we didn't lose that much. Moe man, sorry to hear you got flooded again, there's gotta be some way to fix that. My parents are figuring out what's gotta get fixed first now. We had to take down the chandelier in the dining room cuz it was dripping water, and we've got a big water stain about a foot away from it. The ceiling's going to need some serious repairs and we still haven't found the basement flood's entry point. That's excluding the window in the laundry room. We knew about that already. I'll probably have gone before any of the repairs are done.

This, of course, couldn't have come at a worse time, cuz the pool table is covered in things we salvaged (so is the den floor), and that's where we were going to do my packing. I ended up cleaning out my closet from things I'm not wearing anymore instead of packing because my mom's still doing iron ons for all my clothes.

One last thing, the white car you have the pics of; it was so badly flooded that the owner had to come back on Shabbat during the day and clean it all out (probably still not fully cleaned by the way). Not only that the CAA was supposed to send a tow truck the same day and they only ended up picking it up this morning. Poor guy thought he was going to have a lift on Shabbat so he waited in the car till about 6 pm, when he finally gave up.

Don't worry about it Brad. I just got a little paranoid for a second there. Since I didn't know you were joking, your post sounded kinda threatening. No harm done.
