Anti-Semitic Idiot

From the Edmonton Journal:

Authority to 'chastise' Jews claimed
Ancient writings left accused in charge of future of Jewish people, court told

EDMONTON - Reinhard Mueller says he's not a bigot and doesn't hate Jewish people.
But ancient writings have declared him the Lion of the Tribe of Judah and left him in charge of their future, he says.
"I hold a spiritual office. With it comes my authority over the destiny of the Jewish people," Mueller told a jury Tuesday.
As part of his role, he is not allowed to hate Jews, nor advocate their murder, he said.
"But I have the right to chastise them. That is my right. It comes with the office I hold."
Mueller, 62, is on trial for operating an anti-Semitic website called Federation of Free Planets that denied the Holocaust and described Jewish persons as "sub-humans" and "demons."
The site also claimed Jews are responsible for creating the Ebola and AIDS viruses, the collapse of the World Trade Centre towers and the Columbia space shuttle disaster.
It is believed to be the first Internet hate crime trial in Alberta.
Mueller, who changed his name to Reni Sentana-Ries following his arrest last year, admits he wrote the material and posted it on the website between 1999 and 2003.
He claims he was simply exercising freedom of speech. He has pleaded not guilty to a charge of wilfully promoting hatred.
The jury is to begin deliberations today.
Crown prosecutor Steve Bilodeau told the jury that Mueller's ideas and even references to outer space may seem outrageous, but his mental state ... (

I can't believe people still think like this. I'm comming at this from two points of view: 1. As a Jew whose grandfather fought with the Canadian Armed Forces, and 2. as a history student with emphasis on WWII. The Holocaust happened. There are records of it, and most of them, believe it or not, are from the Nazis themselves. Believe it, learn from it, and then it won't happen again. Never Again.
I am willing to debate this further.

I hear ya buddy. The only reason people are still believing this crap is because it continues to get spread around. That's why anti-hate legislation, education, and advocacy groups are an important first line of defense. When people talk about 'the new anti-Semitism' in the media, I just want to scream. This isn't new - it is the same one there has always been.
I carry the pessimistic view that there will always be anti-Semitism as long as there are Jews, but that doesn't mean we can't beat it down and fight it off when it shows up.

As for you wanting to debate people here about the legitimacy of the Holocaust, I don't think you will find anyone disagreeing with you on this site. Then again, some jerk might pop in here, spouting lies. If so, we'll give him/her the proper Shul of Rock welcome.

Well, we've had some people debate things before here, and I'm hoping my university education will pay off, cuz I'm dying to go head to head with some holocaust denier. It would be like what happened to my prof 25 years ago when one of his students challenged him to find proof oh the existance of any of Hitler's orders to kill Jews. There aren't any records. Why? The orders were verbal. Boo ja.

It's a sad state we live in friends.

Round the world people hate the Jews. Not to say the we are the only people hated on this planet, but it's interesting, not when you only look at history, but at scriptures. That's one thing I'm actually taking advantage of having easy access to this year.

If you look in the Chumash (Bible for all you English only types) you can actually find the promise of our prosecution by God, along with some other rather interesting promises about the Jewish people. Avi, Noam, I recommend you look into a book called "Beyond A
Reasonable Doubt". Or check out Aish's book from their Discovery program. Interesting stuff.

If you do pick up the first book I mentioned, though, even if you feel like it's just written to make you or your opinions feel stupid, forge ahead. Read it through. Trust me, the parts after the first section are well worth the read.

That's all for now.
Ulpan (Hebrew Speaking Class) is about to begin.

Hehe,

All the luck in the world man. You might not get bots anymore, that doesn't mean people like that won't pop by every once in a while.
