Shul of Rock Presents: Barry and Avi Go Downtown

Exams giving you the blues? Having trouble finding a job? Is your crazy uncle still trying to set you up with his co-worker's kid, but you just ain't interested, and he keeps reminding you and getting all up in your face, and you're like "Back off, man" and he's all "whatevah" and kicks your hairy cheeks to Sunday morning?

Well leave your troubles behind, because you are about to take a trip into the wacky world of Barry (our own Mr. T) and Avi (that'd be me) as we venture through downtown Toronto. There will be music, jokes, a slathering of improv, and even a cameo by MuchMusic VJ Leah Miller. It doesn't get much better than this.

Mr. Weinryb, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Jeff, the video was fun! What are you talking about?

It's OK Sarah, Jeff is just quoting the movie "Billy Madison". In doing so, he has really awarded me with what is known as a backhanded compliment.

Hey Avi, did you shoot that movie with a digital camera? You did a great job combining all those footages! :)

Hi Sarah. It was all shot on the Canon Powershot S30, which is - believe it or not - not even a video camera! It's a still camera that has a 30 second video feature. Barry and I took a lot of shots, and we were shouting into the pinhole michrophone. The next day I edited it all together, added some music, and put it up online.

I realize that at 8 and a half minutes, the film was a little longwinded, but one should keep in mind that it IS a travelogue. I'm going to stick to much smaller films for now, but with more shots. I may even do some scripted comedy shorts. Or action. Or film noir. Maybe horror. A film about two guys putzing around downtown is SO yesterday!

Not bad man,

Music went pretty well actually.

T man, I know you're the only one, other than Benzi who'll agree to act like that in Avi's vidz, but come on man! Let's see some more normal looking stuff.

Either way, thing's are looking good. Hope I can join some vidz when I'm back in town.

Later man.
