S of R Presents: Looking for a Job
I was inspired by the film exhibition I saw yesterday, and the mini-documentary I created today is the result. I shot, edited, and uploaded it all within the last couple of hours. It chronicles my search for a summer job. It is an earnest look at the frustrations of looking for employment. Watch as a I go from enthusiasm to disillusion. It is only a few minutes long, but I hope it gives viewers a sense of what it is like to temporarily fail yourself, while still knowing that tommorow is full of possibility.

Hey mano,
Sorry about the spammers coming back. The ad's still there though.
Anyway, the video was, well, interesting. Could've been better. A little less of an attempt at copying Napoleon Dynamite with the bike description thing would've been nice.
Who did the taping? Doesn't look like you were holding the cam.
I held the cam the whole time.
I agree that it could have been much better. I wasn't aiming to make a great film - I just wanted to document a couple hours of my life and put it on the internet.
Yeah, I couldn't resist doing the bike bit. But it is interesting to see me going from playful to pissed.
Hmmm... We never saw you actually go into any stores... Did you just not see any help wanted signs?
Check the board at the concierge desk on the second floor above the theatres. They have jobs for stores on there.
Aww, poor you.
Nice camera work on the bike though.
Have you tried the local starbucks? I'm sure that would be a mighty entertaining occupation.
:-) I liked that mini-documentary.
I wish you good luck on the job search.
Which stores did you apply to so far?
- Sarah
I'm glad you liked it.
I've applied to a bunch of book stores, a camp, some random clothing stores, and a position at Sears as a portrait photographer.
I got called for an interview regarding the camp, so we'll see how it goes!
Also, Barry (Mr. T) and I shot a fun short downtown today. I'm hoping on editing it and uploading it tommorow.
Sounds like interesting stuff man.
Good luck with it all. Or at least one.
